Prayer Support. The Church’s participation in God’s mission is inspired and nourished by a life of liturgical celebration and personal prayer. Eucharist and Mission - The Eucharistic Personal Prayer and Contemplation- The life of prayer of anyone can be a truly missionary act, whether a lay person or an ordained minister, contemplative prayer is to see the world as God does. Missionary Prayer Intentions of the Universal Church - Each month of the year, the Holy Father calls the universal Catholic Church to focus our prayer on a particular missionary concern. In 1951, Archbishop Fulton J. Sheen introduced the World Mission Rosary as a way to pray for the whole world and deepen connection with the Church global mission. Each decade of this rosary represents a different continent; White for Europe, Yellow for Asia, Green for Africa, Red for the Americas and Blue for the island of the Pacific. As each of the mysteries of the rosary are prayed, a particular part of the world is considered. Upon completion, the world is embraced in prayer.
